The FMJF and the Ottawa Community Foundation: Unlocking Ottawa’s Potential for Black Youth Entrepreneurship

The Fondation Michaëlle Jean Foundation is pleased to collaborate with the Ottawa Community Foundation as they commit to engaging partners to address systemic racism in their work within local communities. The Foundation is committed to taking an active approach in creating change for young Black Canadians, and leveraging the strengths of both the FMJF and the OCF to advance our shared interests in Black youth entrepreneurship.

In a recent virtual conversation, the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean and OCF President and CEO Marco Pagani explored a variety of topics, from positioning Ottawa as a vibrant world-class capital, to tapping the leadership potential of youth through social enterprise and cross-sector partnerships. The former Governor General of Canada drew on her vast body of work, passion and experiences with youth across the country, while Marco brought his unique city-building perspective and background as a leader in both the private and non‑profit sectors.
