On October 26th, 2021 in celebration of Small Business Week, the Fondation Michaëlle Jean Foundation hosted the third event of the 2021 National Black Canadian Summit Virtual Series. Titled: Entrepreneurship and Employment Through a Black Lens, this event brought together 4 incredible panelists:
- 1. Alfred Burgesson, CEO and Founder of Tribe Network
- 2. Koumbie, Award-winning director, writer and actress
- 3. Frantz Saintellemy, President and CEO – LeddarTech Chancellor University of Montreal Co-founder and president of G3737
- 4. Nadine Spencer, CEO of BrandEQ Group Inc. and President of the Black Business and Professional Association
The evening was moderated by Emilie Nicolas, journalist and public speaker.
This event offered insights from successful entrepreneurs about venture creation and navigating the workplace, while dealing with the various barriers experienced by Black Canadians. The discussion highlighted experiences of the panelists, and featured breakout room sessions for more learning and networking.
The 2021 Virtual Series is a lead up to the National Black Canadians Summit to be held in Halifax from March 18-20, 2022.
